Summer Holiday: Bridging the gap

To say goodbye to Nelson, my flatmates and I went on a multi-day tramp to Blue Lake in the Nelson Lakes National Park. This lake has the clearest water in the southern hemisphere, with clear visibility through the water to about 80m!

I then stayed in Masterton for the summer, picking up some holiday work and enjoying some short walks in the Tararuas. I was fortunate to be given the position as driver for a local laundry business, which was interesting as I initially didn't know my way around Masterton, nor did I know what businesses were there... but I soon learnt, fast! What a great team to work with!

Castle point is a great beach for locals!

And I ticked off a few huts whilst I was in Masterton.

Sayers Hut

Herepai Hut

Roaring Stag Hut

Blue Ridge Hut

Tutuwai Hut

Atiwhakatu Hut

Jumbo Hut

Cone Hut

As a goodbye to the North Island before starting back in Dunedin a group of friends walked the Tongariro Crossing.

Movie to watch: My Beautiful Broken Brain (2014).

So what happens over summer when you need to repeat papers?
Stay posted to your emails, you will be contacted by the School of Physio about enrollment in your papers for the following year, and you'll likely be contacted by the 4th year coordinator or a centre coordinator to organise a chat about the year just been and what could be done to better meet your needs in the following year.

I'll be based from the Dunedin Campus. My first placement (neuro rehabilitation) will be based at older persons health (OPH) at Dunedin Hospital, then my second placement (tertiary physio) will be at Timaru Hospital.

Whilst I'm proud to have written a weekly blog for the duration of my physio study, I've decided I'm going allocate my resources to things other than writing a weekly blog this year.  You'll still get a recount of my experiences, but they won't be released weekly. The next update will be at the end of this placement.
